Costa Rica developed most of it’s modern characteristics between 1870 to 1882 such as the minimal role of the Catholic Church in relative matters and a relatively isolationist foreign policy. However through all of this Costa Rica is now a very peaceful place and enjoys a steady growth in prosperity.
